A change of perspective...

My favorite subject to work with is landscape. The nature seems to present itself for a photograph is amazing! But I didn't select a landscape for my favorite.
My favorite of this project is a street photo. I took others in landscape and portrait but none captured me as much as this. Perhaps it's because I'm not used to taking pictured like this. Perhaps it's the new aspect of things that I am seeing. Something in me see's this picture and I can't peel my eyes away.
I never would have found myself venturing out into the world to capture a photograph like this, until this assignment. I've never been drawn to taking street photo's before, but now I find myself yearning for more.
There is a mountain in the background, representing scale and a satisfying backdrop. The various types of people in photograph draw my eyes. The small boy in center frame, alone in the middle, the two women on the right side, talking to each other, the man crossing is front left. All of these things show life as we know it. Every day activities we all can recognize, human life, carrying on, not knowing that I'm capturing their movements.
I believe these photo's may have changed my opinion. I find myself thinking now, that street photography is my favorite.

This photo is titled, "A look into life as we know it"

The photographs I took were narrowed down to 5. The above photo won, but I couldn't help myself from sharing the others.

"Autumn Weather"

"Morning Shadows"

"Puppy Pose"

"Workers of Utah"

Thank you for viewing!

  1. That's so awesome that you are getting hooked on street photography - there has to be something about you being immersed in that scene as well, non?
